Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA), International Alliances

Mongolian National Authority of Accreditation (MNAS) is a member of three major international accreditation organization (APAC, ILAC, IAF) and joined their Mutual Recognition Arrangement (MRA).

 Membership date:

  • In 2004, full member of Asia-Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC)
  • In 2007, member of International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC)
  • In 2009, member of International Accreditation Forum (IAF)

The main criterion for accession of these international organizations to the Mutual Recognition Agreement is that the accreditation body (MNAS) must meet the requirements of the following standard that ISO/IEC 17011:2017 “Conformity assessment. Requirements for accreditation bodies accrediting conformity assessment bodies”

Accreditation cooperation organizations periodically perform the peer evaluation of the compliance of the activities of accreditation bodies of member countries with the requirements of the above international standards.

In accordance with Asia-Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC)'s 2020 plan, a preliminary review of the peer evaluation of the Mongolian National Authority of Accreditation (MNAS) was conducted from April 10 to May 8, 2020, and the APAC extended the MRA certificate.

Results of the Mutual Recognition Agreement

The results of testing and calibration laboratories and technical inspection bodies accredited in Mongolia shall be recognized by the 97 countries party to this Agreement without duplication. In addition, more than 20 countries in the Asia-Pacific region shall be directly recognized the results of certification of product certification bodies accredited by Mongolia without duplication.
